In the early 1900s, a group of Baptists living in the Soulard area of St. Louis City established a new congregation. They erected their first church on the southwest corner of 12th and Barton Streets. In 1920, they purchased the former Jesus Evangelical Church located down the block at 1115 Victor Street.

The congregation changed their name to Soulard Community Church in 2001. In 2013, the Rock Hill Baptist Church consolidated several St. Louis churches, one of which was Soulard Community Church, to become The Rock Church of St. Louis. Soulard Community Church became the Soulard Campus of the Rock Church.
