The St. Louis Genealogical Society is powered entirely by volunteers—and there’s a place for you on our team!

Whether you’re an experienced genealogist, a history enthusiast, or simply someone who enjoys helping others, your time and talents can make a lasting contribution to preserving family history.

You don’t need to be a genealogy expert or make a major time commitment. Help regularly or just a few hours each month. Many opportunities can even be done from the comfort of your own home.

Along the way, you’ll meet people who share your interests, develop new skills, and help make valuable historical records accessible to future generations.

Computer Data Entry
Help bring historical information to life by entering data for current research projects. Work at the society office or from home with a computer and internet access.

Proofreading
Have an eye for detail? Help ensure the accuracy of our research databases by reviewing and verifying data entries. Opportunities are available at the office or from home.

Scanning Historical Materials
Help preserve donated historical documents and materials by scanning them for society projects.

Foreign Language Translation
Put your language skills to work translating genealogical records into English, helping researchers uncover information that might otherwise remain inaccessible.

Genealogical Research
Enjoy helping others solve family history mysteries? Assist guests researching at the society office or help fulfill requests for look-ups of individual records.

Society Publications
Share your writing or design talents by preparing book reviews and articles, or helping with graphics and layout for our Quarterly journal.

Publicity and Advertising
Help spread the word about StLGS by creating press releases, promoting events, and assisting with social media.

Publication Production
Help produce the materials that support our educational mission, including printing our Quarterly journal, flyers, and syllabus materials.

Technology Support
Use your technical skills to help with software, network support, or website development.
