The City and County of St. Louis consist of more than one hundred small communities. The Irish had a community on the north side and another on the south. Likewise, the Germans had communities in the north and south sections of St. Louis.

When you learn about the neighborhood or community in which your ancestors lived, you can determine the local churches and synagogues, schools, and businesses.
