Peter Julius Holderle was born 15 July 1876 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Peter John “Theodore” Holderle, a music printer, and Emma (Muhlberg) Holderle. Peter John and Emma Holderle had five children: Peter Julius, Emma, Charles, Caroline “Carrie” (Holderle) Knaus, and Susan Clara “Susie” (Holderle) Crouchley. Peter John Holder died at the age of thirty-five of consumption.

Peter Julius Holderle married Christina Perrot about 1898 in St. Louis. Christina’s parents were Anton Perrot and Josephine (Kurzemann) Perrot. Peter and Christina had six children: Frederick Karl “Fred,” Charles, Clara Susan, Louise “Lulu,” Peter Julius Jr., and Eugene J.

Peter Holderle had several occupations during his lifetime, including barber, railroad baggage man, and watchman. By 1950, he was unable to work.

Christina passed away on 4 October 1949 at the age of seventy-eight of bladder cancer. Peter died of apoplexy eight years later on 7 May 1957 in St. Louis. Both Peter and Christina are interred in Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis.
