| The Irish Catholic farmer, for the most part, had no rights to land ownership from the mid-1600s to the early twentieth century. How was this possible and how did it come about? Our speaker will explain how the Anglo-Irish landowners acquired Irish property, and how the lifestyle of those landowners impacted the predominantly Irish Catholic tenant population. Hands-on, All-day Workshop: From Researching to Writing: Preserving Our Family Stories | Ilene Murray |
| Our family stories are too precious to lose, and sooner or later we need to stop researching and begin preserving our own memories and the stories we’ve gathered. We’ll look at a variety of ways you can get started, some techniques for doing things the best way possible, lots of creative ideas for those not ready to write a book, and more. There will be time to write and collect ideas during the day, and we’ll follow up with a “bonus” class on Saturday, 3 October from 1 till 3 p.m. for more sharing.
