One of the founding members and a former president of the St. Louis Genealogical Society, Robert Parkin worked as a genealogist for many years before computers. He specialized in pre-statehood and early Missouri records. To help organize his records, Mr. Parkin compiled index cards for each surname and family. In 1997, Mr. Parkin donated his surname card collection to St. Louis Genealogical Society.
Most of the cards have an abbreviated citation indicating the source of the data. They also show the relationship between one generation and the next using the Henry numbering format. This one-of-a-kind source may lead you to new names and data.
