The St. Louis Genealogical Society is very sensitive to concerns about how personal information is used and shared. The following describes the society’s privacy policy. By visiting stlgs.org, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy notice.

The St. Louis Genealogical Society uses the information that you provide on our website for such purposes as responding to your requests, joining our society, and communicating with you. We employ other companies to perform functions on our behalf such as processing credit card payments and shipping the items that you have requested on this site. They have access to personal information such as your address and phone number, which is needed to perform their functions, but they may not use either for other purposes.

The society receives and stores certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use “cookies” to personalize and improve your interactions on stlgs.org.  We save your IP address for purposes of verifying your logged in status. We use Google Analytics to help us determine the overall audience usage of our website, in order to improve, add, delete, or move web pages within the website. We do not provide any of this information to third parties for any reason.

You have access to your personal information that is stored on our secure website. Once logged into the home page, click on “Edit Profile.” You can see and/or edit the personal information found on your personal Profile page. We do not sell your personal data nor do we share this information with anyone whether they are members or non-members.

We do not have an automatic renewal of your membership and do not hold your credit card number on our website any longer than it takes to process your charge.  Your password is encrypted and we do not have access to your password.  You may change your password by logging in and clicking on “Edit Profile.”

We, occasionally, will send you an email via our mass email service, Mail Chimp, for the purpose of keeping you informed of important events, closures or weather-related issues. Four times per year, we will send you our Quarterly journal via Mail Chimp.  You have the ability to unsubscribe from such mailings.
