Bates Family Bible - Births
The Bates Bible was shared with St. Louis Genealogical Society by member, Barbara S. (Miller) Giles. In 1974, the Bible pages were given to Barbara by her paternal grandfather, Walter Leslie Miller. He had received the pages from his mother, Martha Jane (Bates) Miller [19 June 1862–18 December 1955]. It is believed that Martha Bates Miller received the Bible from her mother. Most of the dates have been verified with cemetery records. This record was originally published in the 1978 St. Louis Genealogical Society Quarterly, volume 11, number 1, pages 16–17.
