The St. Louis Genealogical Society provides two options for limited genealogical research in the St. Louis area. The first option is a Record Lookup Research Service that focuses on searching for specific records including census, probate records, cemetery indexes, coroners’ records, death records, burial permits, obituaries, marriage records or indexes, naturalization records, and city directories. The second option is a Time-based Genealogy Research Service, which is designed to provide an intermediate level of research work for more complicated requests than just looking up specific records.
Record Lookup Research Service
Record Lookups can be requested by using the StLGS Record Lookup Research Request Form, which can be downloaded here. The form is also available in the StLGS office. If requesting a copy by mail, please include a self-addressed stamped return envelope (SASE). The cost per service is $8.00 for members and $13.00 for non-members.
See the StLGS Research Policy for more information. The society receives many requests for this service, so please allow sixty (60) days for a response to your inquiry

Researchers for Hire Referrals
We also maintain a Researchers for Hire list. The individuals on that referral list charge a fee, which is theirs personally.
